The Belmont Curse now find themselves in an unusual position in the top half of their division with a 2-1 win over the Octopath Travelers. The Curse, who have historically had pitching issues in the OBL, are now finding their stride on the mound, most notably with the return of Sypha Belnades to the starting role. As a starter in season 1, Sypha performed adequately, but never enough to tip the scales, while season 2 saw her being demoted to a reliever early in the season after 2 very poor starts. Here in her first start of season 3, however, Sypha managed to pitch 5 scoreless innings for the Curse, striking out 4 and only allowing 2 runners on base. The Travelers and Curse combined for 3 runs, all on sacrifice flies in this game. The Curse started the sacrificial game with one by Nathan Graves in the 3rd and added another in the 5th off the bat of Richter Belmont. The Travelers were able to match the first run in the 6th thanks to Tressa Colzione, but stranded Ochette on 3rd in the 8th and never had a chance after that.
