Though early errors weren't the downfall of the Golden Suns in their 2-1 loss against the Baron Red Wings, they were at least an omen. After a fantastic game through 8 innings by the Suns pitchers, everything fell apart in the 9th as the Suns, who had just gone up 1-0 in the top of the 9th, gave up 3 doubles within 5 batters to lose the lead and the game to the Red Wings. Cyan Garamonde led off the inning with a double, though Celes Chere was unable to advance him thanks to a strikeout. Edgar Figaro did, though, with a double of his own, tying the game. After a brief conference on the mound, the Suns decided to keep Kraden in to finish the inning, and a flyout by Galuf Baldesion seemed to be the tipping point the Suns needed. Yet Yang Leiden was able to get a solid hit down the left field line, scoring Edgar and ending the game. That's not to say the Suns struggled on offense, necessarily. With 10 hits and 14 total base runners, the Golden Suns offense was consistently able to get runners on base. However, a typically shaky Edward von Muir kept the Suns from scoring in the first 5 innings of the game despite getting runners in scoring position constantly, and a heroic relief appearance by Krile Baldesion stranded all 3 baserunners the Suns had in the 6th inning. Rydia did not have as good an outing, however, giving up 3 singles and a fielder's choice that led to the only run scored by the Suns.
