Shards United certainly looks a shadow of its former self in these early games of Season 3, with this 7-0 loss to the Fire Emblems driving them down to 0-3. The shutout also gives them the second worst run differential in the league at -14 (2 runs scored, 16 runs allowed). The Emblems started off the game with a 4-hit rally with 2 outs in the 1st inning, with 3 singles being capped off by an Anna Feh double to drive in 2 runs. The rally was sparked again in the 4th inning, when the first 6 batters in a row reached base as they scored 5 runs. Shards United was finally able to stem the bleeding after Sigurd Chalphy was picked off between 2nd base and 3rd base after the Emblems reached a 7-0 lead, with the Emblems only earning a single hit after that point. Unfortunately, Shards United couldn't find any traction on offense. The team only managed batting 4-for-30 with 2 walks and a hit batsman. Micaiah Dawn pitched 8 innings in her season debut, with 11 strikeouts vexing the Shards. This win puts the Fire Emblems in sole possession of 1st place in the Nexus Division in prime position to reach the 2nd half of season 3.
