The Shinagawa Aces tried their best to get a late game rally going to rescue this game from the jaws of defeat, but the Star Warriors proved just robust enough to hold the lead and win 5-4. After the Star Warriors jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 4th inning, the rally started for the Aces with a single by Gina Lestrade, followed by a costly error by Tuff, throwing the ball wide of Bonkers (an impressive feat, to be sure) and allowing Ema Skye on base. The Aces would then continue the rally through their entire lineup, scoring 3 runs in the process until Marx finally got the third out off of Simon Blackquill's bat. Simon Blackquill has been a sore spot for the Aces in their first 2 games this season, as he is yet to get a hit despite hitting after their best batter this season, Athena Cykes, who once again provided an impressive day at the plate going 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs, including a solo homerun. Gina Lestrade also had an impressive day at the plate, similarly going 3-for-4, though no RBIs for her in this game. She was unfortunately thrown out after two of those hits thanks to double plays off of Ema Skye's bat. Despite the one solo homerun, Burning Leo had a fantastic day pitching, only giving up the 1 run and 3 hits over 4 innings pitched. He may be a great option for the Star Warriors going forward.
