The Velvet Masks jumped out to an early lead, and the Gatewatch just weren't able to catch all the way back up. Narukami Yu had an incredible day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs, which could have been 5 RBIs if the error by Elspeth Tirel had been counted as a hit instead. The main thing holding the Gatewatch back was their inability to complete a rally. Nothing embodied their offensive struggles more than Elspeth Tirel's homerun being robbed by Satonaka Chie to end the 8th inning with 2 runners left on base. Satonaka's heroic robbery in left field prevented Ravnica from taking the lead late. With more runners left on base than the Velvet Masks had hits - including 4 stranded on 3rd - this one will sting for Ravnica's offense.
